Cake By The Lake: a first birthday cake smash outdoors!

This session is a few years old but it continues to be one of my very favorites. Baby C was such a fun little guy (and continues to be a ball of laughs now that he's a bit bigger) and his family is just as great. When they said they wanted to do a beach session but also wanted to do a cake smash I almost fell out of my chair. The only way you can make a baby cuter is to let them get super messy and that sugar/sand combination is the perfect way to get there. Also that song "Cake By The Ocean" was a really big deal at the time and although Lake Ontario is technically a Lake I figured it was close enough! Enjoy these hilarious photos.
